Position Summary

The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for using the x-ray equipment to produce diagnosing images.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for explaining the procedure performed to the patient.
  • Prepares the patient for x-rays by making sure they are properly positioned for optimal results.
  • Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
  • Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Compensation starts at $23.04 per hour, with the final hourly rate determined by the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.

  • Knowledge of procedures to reduce patient radiation exposure.
  • Knowledge of appropriate medical terminology.
  • Skill in communicating clearly with diverse publics.
  • Skill in excellent customer service.
  • Skill in using x-ray machine.

  • Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients and medical staff.

Education / Training / Requirements
