Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking X-Ray technologists in Brooklyn, NY to start ASAP. You will perform radiographic exams, ensure patient safety, and document procedures in RIS/PACS. You must hold a NY state license for X-Ray technology and have completed an X-Ray technologist program.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an X-Ray technologist program required.

Responsibilities

• Care for the patient during the x-ray examination under medical staff instructions.
• Render emergency assistance if needed.
• Apply patient identification and labeling of images using markers. Acquire x-ray images as ordered in RIS or on the control sheet.
• Process high quality diagnostic images for Radiologist review and patient care continuation.
• Enter patient identifying information into RIS/PACS/Modality.
• Provide radiation protection measures for patients.
• Maintain imaging room in clean, neat condition.
• Notify Supervisors and coworkers of equipment issues or maintenance needs affecting safety.
• Perform other duties as required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Conduct x-ray examinations in accordance with the highest standard of safety, courtesy, morality, and privacy.
• Responsible for the care of the patient during the performance of the x-ray examination in accordance with medical staff instructions.
• Render emergency assistance if needed.
• Applying proper patient identification and labeling of images using indelible markers. Acquires x-ray images as ordered and indicated on the Radiology Information System (RIS) or as on the printed Control sheet.
• Process high quality diagnostic images so Radiologist can use them to make clinical diagnosis for continuation of patient care.
• Accurately enter patient identifying information into RIS/PACS/Modality.
• Provide adequate radiation protection measures for patients.
• Maintain imaging room in clean, neat condition.
• Notify Supervisors and co-workers of equipment issues, maintenance needs that may contribute to reduction in safety of the patient or other hospital employees.
• Perform other duties as required.
