Job summary

Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth is seeking a X-Ray Technologist to join our Radiology Diagnostics team. This full-time role offers guaranteed hours, competitive benefits and opportunities to work in a high-performing hospital environment.

The position requires ARRT and BCLS certifications, an accredited Radiologic Technology program graduate, and strong patient-care communication skills. PRN/shift-based work supports weekday and evening coverage.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent at hire.
  • ARRT Certification required at hire; BCLS required prior to independent patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patients before and during exams.
  • Image and area of interest according to protocols; perform complex procedures with age-related criteria.
  • Assist radiologist with invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
  • Process and manipulate images; analyze image quality; adjust technique or repeat as needed.
  • Send and transfer images to PACS correctly.
  • Assess patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions.
  • Operate, care for and maintain radiologic equipment.
  • Prepare exam room with required supplies and safety equipment.
  • Administer contrast media and medications per guidelines.
  • Maintain room and equipment to sanitary standards between patients.

Education

Other graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology upon hire required Or

Experience

Associate's Degree Preferred

1 Year Radiologic Technologist Experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist Either by the TDH or TMB Upon Hire Required And

ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire Required And

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

What You Will Do

A Texas Health X-Ray Tech is responsible for explaining procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to and during exam, imaging correct anatomical area of interest and pathology according to department protocols, and performing complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations.

  • assist radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
  • process and manipulate images, analyze image quality, troubleshoots, make technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed.
  • correctly send and transfer images to PACS.
  • assess and recognize the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions.
  • operate, care for and maintain equipment.
  • prepare room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies).
  • administer contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines.
  • maintain equipment and room to sanitary standards between patients (injectors, table tops, floors).
