Job summary

Spectrum Staffing Services is representing a client pursuing an experienced Software Developer to join their R&D team, building next-generation medical X-ray imaging systems. The role focuses on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Windows-based software using C++/C# in a regulated environment.

The candidate will translate requirements into architectures, debug and resolve issues, and contribute to verification and validation efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, Software Engineering, IT, or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience with C/C++, C#, and .NET on Windows.
  • FDA-regulated medical device experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software for medical X-ray imaging systems using C++ and C#.
  • Translate product requirements into software architecture, technical designs, and functional specifications.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software and system issues.
  • Develop automation tools and test frameworks to support software verification and validation.
  • Collaborate with systems, applications, image processing, and service engineering teams throughout product development.
  • Support software documentation, design controls, and regulatory compliance for FDA-regulated products.
  • Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, estimation, and execution.
  • Implement secure software development practices and support cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Perform software testing, code reviews, and system integration activities.
  • Provide technical support for complex software-related issues as needed.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Software Developer to join their R&D team developing next-generation medical X-ray imaging systems. This role will focus on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Windows-based software used in FDA-regulated medical devices. The ideal candidate has strong C++/C# development experience, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and thrives in a collaborative engineering environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, develop, and maintain software for medical X-ray imaging systems using C++ and C#
  • Translate product requirements into software architecture, technical designs, and functional specifications
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software and system issues
  • Develop automation tools and test frameworks to support software verification and validation
  • Collaborate with systems, applications, image processing, and service engineering teams throughout product development
  • Support software documentation, design controls, and regulatory compliance for FDA-regulated products

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong experience with C/C++, C#, and .NET development
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming, software architecture, and design patterns
  • Experience with multi-threaded programming, Windows operating systems, and TCP/IP networking
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), testing, and change control processes
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience within medical devices, FDA-regulated environments, or medical imaging is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, DICOM, or related medical device standards is a plus
