Job summary

CentraCare Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support medical, advanced practice, and nursing staff in delivering quality patient care in a clinic setting.

Responsibilities include preparing and performing x-ray exams, running laboratory tests, processing specimens, and reporting results, all under supervision of a medical provider. The role emphasizes patient/family centered care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), NCMA through National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) accredited school required.
• National Healthcareer Association (NHA) – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or
• National Association for Health Professionals – Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) certification examination or
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) – Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) or
• American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or – for CMA
• American Medical Technologists (AMT) accredited school – for RMA (Registered Medical Assistant)
• Minnesota x-ray operator's license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card per established policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist medical, advanced practice, and professional/technical nursing staff in delivering patient-centered care.
• Prepare, perform, and understand all x-ray exams; conduct laboratory functions including specimen processing, testing, and reporting results.
• Work as a vital team member to ensure high-quality care for patients and families.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Accredited Medical Assistant program (AAMA/AMT/NCMA/NCCT/NHA)

CCMA/NRCMA/NCMA/CMA/RMA certification or equivalent exam

Minnesota x-ray operator's license

BLS Healthcare Provider certification
