Job summary

Muddy Branch Dental Group, part of Heartland Dental, seeks a dedicated Dental Assistant to support clinicians and ensure patient comfort. The role involves x-ray duties, chairside assistance, and maintaining accurate records with Dentrix.

Candidates should have a Maryland XRAY certification and be able to work a full-time schedule (Mon-Thu 8:30a-5:00p). TB testing may be required for new hires as part of safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• If required by state Act, dental assistant and/or X-ray certification.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and guide them through their dental journey, ensuring comfort and education throughout treatment.
• Conduct health history reviews to support quality care.
• Take and process X-rays and other diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dentists during procedures.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols (OSHA & CDC).
• Manage supplies and inventory and place orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and improve workflow.
