Job summary

Chicago Magnesium Casting and Midwest Aerospace Casting, LLC. seeks an RT trainee to prepare and x-ray parts per approved techniques under supervision. You will salvage castings, coordinate with welding, and support continuous improvement by analyzing scrap and defect trends.

Responsibilities include accurate reporting, proper safety practices, and review of instructions, weld maps, and blueprints to ensure final specifications are met before proceeding.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret work instructions and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Accurate scanning in and out of jobs and proper reporting of processed quantities.
• Wear proper safety equipment and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Understand customer requirements and CM scrap challenges; support continuous improvement.
• Review and inspect materials, build self-inspections into processes.
• Complete, date, and sign off on routing information and logs.
• Sort parts by melt/dash/serial numbers and verify quantities and welded castings.
• X-ray parts to CM SP402 technique and verify with traveler tickets.
• Inspect castings for defects, perform repairs or scrapping decisions.
• Communicate defect patterns to X-Ray, Final Inspection, and Quality teams.
