Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. (Japan) invites applicants for an X-Dev Prop Artist Intern Summer 2027 in the United States (California) to support the creation and review of game-ready props and materials.

You will collaborate with the X-Dev Props Manager, Art Director, and Lead Artists to communicate asset requirements to external vendors and monitor their work throughout production. You’ll gain hands-on experience with prop modeling, asset review, and external production workflows while

Qualifications

Proficient in 3D asset creation and texture work.
Ability to communicate asset requirements clearly to external vendors.
Experience reviewing outsourced art and providing actionable feedback.

Responsibilities

Create comprehensive briefs with images and text for external vendors under guidance.
Review external assets (3D models, textures, materials, UVs) and provide feedback.
Support prop development across high/low poly, materials/textures, and delivery phases.
Guide external vendors in creating props, including hard surface assets, with team direction.
Collaborate to ensure block-out proxy models and references are available for external work.
Apply Maya, Substance Painter/Designer, ZBrush, Photoshop in asset development and review.
Maintain consistent artistic style across assets per Art Director guidance.
Gain experience with external production workflows and feedback communication.
