Provide clinical and clerical support to the nursing and medical staff in assigned outpatient clinic
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- High School diploma or Equivalent.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
Experience

- Health care experience or training.

- Obtain and record pertinent data such as height, weight, temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure.
- Obtain and/or instruct patients on how to obtain specimens.
- After training and skills testing may perform assigned and/or all ordered POCT tests and maintain quality control testing and logs.
- Provide assistance and information to patients directly or by telephone and refer appropriate issues or concerns to professional nursing staff or medical staff.
- Open or close nursing operations in clinical areas as required.
- Assist in reviewing patient's medical record, assure availability of diagnostic test results in record, and provide appropriately labeled forms for documentation.
- Assist provider during patient examination by assembling necessary supplies and equipment and provide chaperone assistance.
- Facilitate flow of patients into examination areas, to and from diagnostic testing areas, etc.
- Assist provider when possible in completing requisitions or forms for patient examination or testing.
- Facilitate patient compliance with medical plan of care by scheduling test appointments and may witness consent forms.
- Maintain and use equipment according to hospital and departmental guidelines and policy.
- Assist in maintaining adequate inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Comply with and participate in department and hospital quality assurance programs, data collection programs, quality control programs, etc.

- Job requires pulling or lifting materials weighing 20 to 60 pounds, pushing carts, and positioning patients.
