Job summary

FCC Environmental Services is seeking an Assistant Control Room Operator for the Pinellas County Waste to Energy facility. The role focuses on monitoring the boiler, turbine generator, and APC systems to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

You will assist in daily plant operation, perform rounds, monitor instrument readings, and support field personnel while maintaining detailed logs and adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (accredited). ASME QRO provisional certification preferred.
• 3 years working in a power plant operation or related experience.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts.
• Must be able to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections, rounds and actions to keep Boiler, Combustion, Turbine Generator and APC systems within limits.
• Assists Plant Operator in daily operation and maintenance of the plant in the field.
• Investigates changes in instrument readings and equipment operation.
• Notifies Plant Operator/Shift Supervisor of operational inconsistencies or concerns.
• Conducts routine inspections and services of equipment and troubleshooting as needed.
• Operates DCS/HMI for plant control and prepares of lockout/tag-out permits.
