Job summary

Bridgewater State University is looking for a Writing Studio consultant to provide feedback to student writers at various stages of their writing process. The consultant must be a current undergraduate student at Bridgewater and will be expected to enroll in ENGL 204 during their employment. Exceptional interpersonal and writing skills are required to effectively support peers. The position offers an hourly rate of $17 and entails a friendly, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student enrolled in a degree program registered for at least six credits.
  • Available to enroll in the ENGL204 class that meets on Mondays from 1:50-2:40pm.

Position Information
Position Description

At the Bridgewater State University Writing Studio, friendly peer consultants provide helpful feedback to student writers working at all levels of the writing process. They provide support for any form of writing, regardless of the genre or course discipline. The Writing Studio consultant will be responsible for providing students with feedback on their writing (and/or supporting them in generating ideas) in a friendly, caring manner.

Please Note: Filling out this application is the second step in our hiring process; the first step is to submit two writing samples, one of which should be in an academic genre. If you haven’t already submitted writing samples via our AAC application, you may email them to Writing Studio Director Wendy Rockne wrockne@bridgew.edu.

Requirement

Must be able to take ENGL 204 during the first two semesters that you work in the Writing Studio. ENGL 204 is a one-unit class (repeatable for credit) that meets on Mondays from 1:50-2:40pm.
