PennWest-Edinboro Campus is seeking a Writing Center Consultant (Tutor) to support students with their writing process and to provide feedback following MLA and APA guidelines.

The position pays $10 per hour and requires a 3.0 GPA, strong writing samples, and a faculty recommendation. Responsibilities include tutoring, workshop delivery, and creating handouts and visual materials.

Qualifications

  • GPA requirement: 3.0 cumulative.
  • Grade A/A- in ENGL 102 or ENGL 1200.
  • English Faculty Recommendation is required.
  • Writing Sample using source material (at least 4 pages).
  • Ability to provide feedback according to MLA and APA guidelines.
  • Ability to provide grammar/spelling feedback on assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students in all aspects of the writing process (brainstorming, proofreading, formatting, citations, etc.).
  • Provide writing support to students who visit the Writing Center, as well as those who submit papers via email for review.
  • Conduct in classroom or center tutorials and workshops.
  • Design handouts, PowerPoints, videos.
