Job summary

TelevisaUnivision, Inc. is seeking a Writer to join our Network News team in Miami. The role involves daily production of news programs, copy-editing, translation between English and Spanish, and quick responses to breaking news.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in communications or journalism, strong writing skills, and fluency in English and Spanish, with at least two years of writing experience. Flexibility for weekends and holidays is required.

• Bachelor’s degree in communication/Journalism or equivalent experience.
• Strong news judgment and excellent writing skills required.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (read and write).

Responsibilities

• Work on the daily production of news programs including newscasts and special coverage.
• Copy-edit news stories including correspondents’ scripts.
• Translate from English to Spanish.
• Revise spelling for graphics and supers.
• Provide quick reaction to breaking news and update shows as needed.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

• Copy-edit news stories including correspondents’ scripts
• Translate aptly from English to Spanish
• Revise spelling for graphics and supers
• Quick reaction to breaking news and possible show news updates
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

You Have

• Bachelor’s degree in communication/Journalism or equivalent experience
• Strong news judgment
• Excellent writing skills.
• Fast reacting to breaking news
• Ability to step out of the box and take charge of situations.
• 2 years’ experience writing
• Fluent in English & Spanish (read and write)
• Attention to detail, strong communication skills
