Job summary

Livermoreschools Athletics Department is seeking an Athletic Coach to instruct student-athletes in sport rules, conditioning, and teamwork. You will report to the Athletic Director and help foster discipline, character, school pride, and safety during practices, games, and travel.

You will plan daily practices, lead competitions including weekend tournaments, monitor academics and behavior, maintain equipment, communicate schedules with families, and serve as a positive role model promoting fair

Qualifications

• The athletic coach instructs athletes in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes self-discipline, character development, and school pride.

Responsibilities

• Practice & Game Management: Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices and lead the team during competitions, including weekend tournaments.
• Skill Development: Teach fundamental and advanced skills, strategies, and proper conditioning to optimize performance.
• Safety & Supervision: Ensure the safety of student-athletes by supervising them at all times, including practices, games, locker rooms, and on travel.
• Academic & Behavioral Monitoring: Monitor the academic progress and conduct of student-athletes, emphasizing that "student" comes before "athlete".
• Communication: Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, administration, and the media regarding schedules and expectations.
• Equipment & Logistics: Maintain an inventory of uniforms and equipment, and assist with facility preparation.
• Mentorship: Act as a positive role model, fostering good sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play.
