Job summary

Jefferson Parish Schools is seeking an Assistant Coach for Wrestling at Haynes Academy for Advanced ST in Metairie, LA. The role supports the head coach, assists with program development and ensures compliance with district and state rules.

The position requires the ability to coordinate after-school activities, weekends when needed, and strong communication with students, parents and staff. Ideal candidates have wrestling knowledge and teaching credentials.

Qualifications

• Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate and LHSAA eligibility requirements.
• Experience with wrestling fundamentals.
• CDL class B with P and S endorsements (air brakes not required).
• Employment with Jefferson Parish Public School System as a teacher/administrator; must meet LHSAA Article 3.3.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in development and organization of the wrestling program.
• Assist in maintenance, inventory and issuance of equipment.
• Build sportsmanship and public relations in school and community.
• Ensure student athletes have current physicals and adequate insurance as required.
