COURTLAND HIGH SCHOOL, part of Spotsylvania County Public Schools, seeks an energetic Wrestling Assistant Coach to develop a competitive team and uphold values of teamwork, leadership and character.

The role involves supporting the Head Coach, managing equipment, organizing tryouts, and ensuring medical clearances before practice. Compensation includes a $1,371 monthly stipend as part of a contract position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 18 years of age.
• One year of coaching experience in the sport assigned.
• CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to enroll and complete CPR/First Aid training course.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining high academic standards for all student-athletes.
• Works cooperatively with the Head Athletic Coach to operate a balanced athletic program.
• Serves as a positive influence on athletes and staff behavior.
• Engages and directs the team at varsity events; supports junior varsity and freshman contests.
• Manages sports equipment inventory and care; recommends new or replacement equipment.
