Job summary

Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking an energetic Assistant Athletic Coach for Girls Wrestling to develop a competitive and representative team at Spotsylvania High School. The role emphasizes teamwork, leadership, character, athletic skills, and wholesome attitudes among athletes.

Essential duties include assisting the Head Coach, managing equipment, coordinating tryouts, and ensuring athletes complete medical exams before the season starts, while supporting younger squads and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 18 years of age minimum.
• One year coaching experience in the sport assigned.
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to enroll and complete a CPR and First Aid training course.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining high academic standards for student-athletes.
• Works cooperatively with Head Athletic Coaches to operate the program.
• Serves as a positive influence on staff and teams.
• Engages and directs the team at varsity events and supports junior varsity and freshman contests.
• Manages inventory of sports equipment and aids in equipment replacement decisions.
• Supports organizing systems that encourage student participation and recruitment of support staff.
• Ensures athletes have undergone medical examinations before practice season begins.
• Collects and maintains records, statistics, and photos for teams under supervision.
• Observes sub-varsity practices and games as required.
