Job summary

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking an Assistant Coach, Wrestling in Providence, Rhode Island. The role supports the Head Coach in developing student athletes and teaching wrestling skills, game strategy, and sportsmanship.

The position also handles daily program operations, including recruitment coordination, travel planning, and scheduling to ensure successful team performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 1–2 years of relevant coaching and/or competitive playing experience.
• In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 5 years of directly related coaching and/or competitive playing experience is required.
• Demonstrated experience in intercollegiate athletics, professional athletics, elite amateur sport, or a comparable competitive environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Coach in leadership and development of student athletes.
• Teach athletic skills, fostering student athlete character, and game strategy.
• Execute daily operations of the program, including recruitment coordination, travel arrangements and scheduling.
