Job summary

North Providence Public Schools Birchwood Middle School in North Providence, Rhode Island seeks a dedicated Middle School Wrestling Coach. The role reports to the Principal and Athletic Director and encompasses coaching and related duties for the wrestling program.

Applicants must be available for duties during all times established by the Principal’s Athletic Committee; daily practices are expected, with tournaments possible.

Qualifications

• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching and abuse prevention courses are required.
• Concussion and sudden cardiac arrest training are mandatory.
• Basic first aid and CPR certifications or equivalents are required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach wrestling fundamentals and skills.
• Organize and supervise daily practice sessions.
• Provide care and prevention of injuries.
• Conform to rules established by the Athletic Director.
• Teach sport rules and maintain good sportsmanship.
• Maintain control of all team members and supervise equipment.
• Coordinate with the Athletic Director on all matters pertaining to the sport.
• Ensure players have required physical examinations.
