Wound/Treatment Nurse – LVNBakersfield Post AcuteFull-TimePay Range: $28.00–$32.00 per hour, based on experienceBakersfield Post Acute is seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team as a full-time Wound/Treatment Nurse. This position ensures residents receive effective and efficient wound care and treatments in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.The Wound/Treatment Nurse reports directly to the Director of Nursing and plays an essential role in promoting healing, maintaining skin integrity, and providing the highest quality of resident-centered care.Essential ResponsibilitiesPerform wound care and other treatments according to physician orders and established care plansAccurately assess and document wounds, pressure injuries, skin conditions, and residents’ responses to treatmentMonitor healing progress and promptly notify physicians and nursing leadership of deterioration, infection, or lack of improvementMaintain complete, accurate, and timely treatment records and nursing notesCarry out physician orders for medications, treatments, and resident careProvide all treatments in a manner that preserves each resident’s dignity, comfort, privacy, and self-respectCommunicate regularly with residents and families regarding plans of care and treatment protocolsCollaborate with physicians, nursing, therapy, dietary, and other members of the interdisciplinary teamEnsure appropriate wound-management services and interventions are included in the care plan, including pressure-relieving surfaces and nutritional supportAssist with developing and updating treatment-related care plansAssist physicians and other healthcare providers during resident visits and examinationsNotify physicians and families of significant treatment-related concerns, including:Sudden or significant changes in wounds or skin conditionAdverse responses to, refusal of, or unavailability of prescribed treatmentsTreatment errors that may present a significant riskDelays in obtaining medications, equipment, supplies, or services that may affect resident safetyReport significant findings and changes in condition to the RN Supervisor and Director of NursingMaintain an acceptable standard of nursing practice and professional conductProvide reassurance and compassionate support to residents who may be anxious or distressedAssist with the orientation and ongoing education of nursing staff regarding wound care and treatment proceduresParticipate in facility surveys and inspections as requestedFollow infection-prevention practices and all applicable facility, state, and federal requirementsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesAssist with the overall supervision and clinical support of nursing staffPromote compliance with established nursing policies, treatment protocols, and standards of careQualificationsGraduate of an accredited nursing programCurrent, active, and unencumbered California LVN licenseCurrent CPR/BLS certificationTwo or more years of nursing experience preferredPrevious wound care, treatment nurse, skilled nursing, or long-term care experience strongly preferredKnowledge and experience with PointClickCare preferredStrong wound-assessment, documentation, communication, and customer-service skillsAbility to read and understand clinical procedures, physician orders, and policy manualsAbility to evaluate problems and follow written, verbal, diagrammed, and scheduled instructionsMust complete all continuing-education requirements and remain in good standing with the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric TechniciansPhysical RequirementsFrequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, and pullingOccasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawlingAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to communicate clearly and effectivelyVisual ability necessary to accurately assess wounds and resident conditionsReasonable accommodations may be provided to qualified individuals with disabilitiesBenefitsCompetitive payMedical, dental, and vision insuranceLife insurance401(k)Paid time offContinuous training and professional growth opportunitiesSupportive leadership and an excellent team environmentRewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in residents’ livesJob Type: Full-timePay: $28.00–$32.00 per hour, based on experienceBakersfield Post Acute is an Equal Opportunity Employer.We are an equal opportunity employer.
