Responsibilities

• Provides follow-up and interventions to patients with ostomies, draining wounds, fistulas, or skin breakdown from pressure, incontinence, venous hypertension, arterial insufficiency, trauma, surgery, or diabetes.
• Offers direct patient care counseling for patients facing ostomy surgery and post-op care, and assesses and advises on ostomy products and wound care.
• Educates physicians, nursing staff, and other professionals on ostomy and wound care best practices and self-care education.
