Job summary

White Plains Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Wound Care Therapist to provide wound care within the PT or nursing scope of practice. Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment, and prevention of wounds for inpatients and outpatients.

The role requires graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy or Nursing program, NYS license or eligibility, and orientation completion. Work hours are 9 AM-5 PM, Monday through Friday, in the Clinics Wound Care department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited college program in Physical Therapy; B.A./B.S. in Physical Therapy or higher degree or graduate of accredited college program in Nursing.
• New York State license or eligibility for Physical Therapy or Registered Nurse license.
• Successful completion of orientation program according to department guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs wound care for in- and outpatients within the applicable physical therapy or nursing scope of practice.
• Adheres to hospital standards and coordinates with physicians, nurses and therapists.
• Documents wound assessments and treatment progress; maintains accurate billing and patient records.
• Directs and supervises Wound Care Technicians, students and volunteers.
