Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in a Med/Surg environment preferred.
• Formal nurse aide course or equivalent certification required.
• BLS or Heart Saver (First Aid/ CPR/ AED) certification required from a recognized provider.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with wound care under licensed supervision.
• Provide basic hygiene care and unsterile treatments.
• Take vital signs and assist with range of motion exercises.
• Advocate for patients while maintaining confidentiality and dignity.
• Demonstrate wound care techniques to patients and families.
• Maintain knowledge of sanitation, infection control and equipment usage.
• Monitor patient environment for safety and report deficiencies.
• Notify nursing staff of patient condition changes and assist as needed.
• Escort patients and transport supplies as required.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth through training and reading.
