Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, healthcare or related field.
• Active RN license in state of practice, or compact license.
• BLS certification is required.
• Current specialty area certification (wound/ostomy, diabetic care, or pain management).
• 2-3 years of experience in the clinical area of specialty.
• Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages and influences the quality of patient outcomes through application of specialized knowledge.
• Provides specialty-focused nursing consultation on complex patient cases; evaluates needs and recommends treatment, implements interventions and evaluates outcomes.
• Serves as a specialized clinical resource to patients, families and staff to advance quality of care.
• Identifies opportunities for staff development and learning through training and education.
• Stays current on developments within the specialty and integrates findings into practice, policies, and procedures.
• Interacts with staff, physicians, patients, families and external contacts to coordinate care.
