Job summary

Island Lake Center in Florida is seeking an experienced Wound Care Nurse (RN) to provide specialized wound management, assess wounds, develop treatment plans, and ensure evidence‑based care with precise documentation.

This full‑time role (8a–5p, Monday–Friday with weekend on‑call) emphasizes safety and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, resident and family education, and ongoing care plan updates. Competitive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; RN program graduate required.
• Current, active RN license.
• Peripheral IV certification.
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience.
• Experience with geriatrics or subacute populations preferred.
• Management or leadership experience a plus.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and updated care plans for all skin impairments.
• Conduct weekly wound rounds with the wound consultant.
• Perform and document weekly wound measurements with accuracy and timeliness.
• Monitor and evaluate all new pressure-related skin openings and determine root causes.
• Assess and manage surgical, arterial, venous, and other complex wounds.
• Ensure all treatments, changes, and follow-up needs are documented thoroughly.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on wound care procedures and expectations.
• Demonstrate wound care techniques to caregivers to support staff competency.
• Communicate with the interdisciplinary team to support coordinated care.
