Job summary

Catawba Valley Medical Center seeks an RN to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care in the Wound Healing Center. You will manage patient intake and discharge and may serve as Case Manager for a group of patients, ensuring compliance with nursing standards and documenting performance improvement activities.

Collaboration with physicians is essential to wound care plans and patient outcomes. The role emphasizes adherence to federal/state laws, Joint Commission standards and professional ethics

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• Current NC RN license or licensure from Nursing Compact State.
• BCLS certification; if not from AHA, an AHA certification required within three months of employment date.
• Specialty course work and certification in area of practice (preferred).
• No previous experience required is indicated, but one year of nursing experience and wound care experience are referenced as preferences.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of patients in the Wound Healing Center.
• Provide patient care and manage intake and discharge for Wound Healing Center patients.
• May serve as Case Manager for a group of assigned Wound Healing Center patients.
• Meet established wound center nursing practice standards in management of all assigned patients.
• Assist physicians with wound treatment plans and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Act within the guidelines of federal/state laws, Joint Commission standards and professional/ethical practice.

Education

Nursing degree / Graduate of accredited nursing program

RN license in NC or NLC

BCLS certification

Wound care specialty coursework (preferred)
