Job summary

New Carlton Nursing Home seeks a compassionate Wound Care Nurse to support the nursing department in coordination with the DON. The role focuses on wound care, infection prevention, and ensuring regulatory compliance to deliver high-quality resident care.

You will work closely with physicians, staff, and families to implement evidence-based practices, monitor outcomes, and contribute to budget planning within the nursing department.

Qualifications

• Must possess strong interpersonal communication and the ability to deal effectively with patients, families, physicians, and the public.
• Associate degree in Nursing or higher from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have a valid NY RN license.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in ADON/ Nursing Supervisor roles in Long Term Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all nursing personnel comply with established standards, practices, and regulatory requirements for high-quality resident care.
• Follows wound care orders for each resident with care, compassion, and accuracy.
• Support development and implementation of nursing department budgets with facility administration.
• Implement compliance and quality improvement policies, programs and procedures.
• Surveillance, rounding, analyzing, interpreting and reporting healthcare-associated infections.
• Leads infection prevention and serves as a resource, educator, and advocate for infection prevention improvement.
