Job summary

MediLodge of Marshall is seeking a Wound Care Registered Nurse to plan, coordinate, and deliver comprehensive nursing care for residents. You will supervise clinical staff and provide guidance on wound care management.

You will assess patient needs, develop care plans, and educate staff on best practices. This role emphasizes teamwork, compassionate care, and maintaining high standards of patient safety in a skilled nursing environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Valid RN license in the state employed.
• CPR certification.
• Two years nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate wound care for residents.
• Provide advanced clinical guidance to physicians and nursing staff for wound management.
• Develop and deliver education programs for staff.
• Determine nursing interventions and care plans.
• Participate in selecting stoma site when applicable.
• Perform related responsibilities as required.

The Wound Care RN plans, coordinates, and provides total nursing care for residents and provides supervision and guidance to clinical staff members in relation to wound care.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Graduate of accredited RN School of Nursing.

Licenses/Certification:

• Valid RN license in the state employed.
• Valid CPR certification.

Experience:

• Two year of nursing experience preferred.

Essential Functions:

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the ostomy care for patients on units.
• Provides advanced clinical guidance to physicians and nursing staff for complex wound drainage, drainage confinement, skin protection, and the prevention of pressure necrosis (skin deterioration and skin loss)
• Develops and conducts educational programs for staff.
• Determines appropriate nursing interventions for identified patient problems, symptoms, and teaching needs.
• Develops a patient care plan and determines the equipment, materials, and resources needed to successfully implement the care plan.
• Selects the stoma (opening) site on the patient prior to surgery, based on the patient's anatomy, activity level, and lifestyle.
• Performs related responsibilities as required.
