Job summary

Skilled Wound Care is seeking a Wound Care Physician in Alexandria, LA. This role offers Full-time or Part-time options with a no-call lifestyle and opportunities to lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area.

You will perform debridement, manage chronic wounds, and follow patients through healing with supportive training and modern documentation tools. MDs or DOs with an unrestricted license (or eligibility) are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Unrestricted or active medical license in the practicing state (or eligibility).
• DEA license or eligibility to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures.
• Evaluation and treatment of chronic, non-healing and complex wounds.
• Advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols.
• Collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and post-acute settings, following patients through healing.

Wound Care Physician Salary & Compensation

• Full-Time Average Annual Earnings: $250,000– $500,000 (no earning cap as an independent contractor)
• High Achievers: Top performers earn $500,000+ through performance bonuses
• Pay Structure: Per-patient and per-procedure pay, plus quarterly bonus programs

Wound Care Physician Schedule

We offer consistent weekday schedules with no nights or weekends, in part-time or full-time options:

• Part-Time: 2–3 days per week
• Full-Time: 4–5 days per week

Wound Care Physician Requirements

• Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Medical License: Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain one)
• DEA License: Or eligibility to obtain one
• Open Background: We welcome physicians from all specialties. Completed residency and board certification/eligibility are not required. No previous wound care or procedural experience is required; we provide comprehensive wound care training
