Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston, WV, is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver specialized wound and skin care. The role involves preserving skin integrity, leading wound care rounds, and providing hands-on treatment to complex wounds within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Preserve skin integrity by implementing and monitoring skin preservation strategies.
• Ensure wound and skin care protocols are approved by medical staff.
• Organize weekly multidisciplinary wound and skin rounds for high risk patients and those with pressure ulcers.
• Provide hands-on wound care for difficult and non-healing wounds.
• Serve as a resource to hospital staff on wound and skin care issues.
• Ensure all regulatory requirements are met.

Schedule: Full TimeCompensation: $37.67 - $50.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Preserving the integrity of the skin by implementing and monitoring skin preservation strategies.
• Ensuring all wound and skin care protocols are approved by the medical staff.
• Organizing multidisciplinary wound and skin rounds on a weekly basis for high risk patients and patients with current pressure ulcers and other significant wounds.
• Providing hands-on wound care for all difficult and non-healing wounds.
• Serving as a resource to all hospital staff on all issues related to wound and skin care.
• Ensuring all regulatory requirements are met

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

• AD (Associate's degree in Nursing) required.
• One (1) year of related experience required.
• Valid State RN License.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Must complete wound care training in the first 90 days in the role.

Preferred qualifications:

• BSN preferred.
