Avante at Mt. Dora is seeking a Wound Care Nurse to provide weekly monitoring of pressure ulcers, with recommendations for treatment changes if there is no improvement. You will recommend and implement preventative interventions to avoid skin breakdowns in immobile and inactive residents, following state and federal regulations. Additionally, you will supervise the restorative needs of residents in collaboration with the Rehab Director and Director of Nursing to prevent decline and maintain optimal functioning.

Qualifications:

• Must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with a license in good standing, with previous hospital, long-term care, and wound care experience.
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must speak and understand English
• Must be able to supervise and instruct others
• Previous supervisory experience or completion of an appropriate training program, as required by state law
• Positive attitude toward the elderly

Education and Experience:

• Must be a Licensed Nurse in the appropriate State
• Previous experience in Long Term Care preferred
