Job summary

Hannibal-Regional-Healthcare-System is seeking a qualified wound care nurse to assess wounds, plan and implement care, and evaluate outcomes across the organization. The role includes education for patients, families and staff on wound management, pressure ulcer prevention, dressings and therapies.

The nurse will serve as a resource to physicians and staff. The ideal candidate holds a BSN, Missouri RN licensure or eligibility, and CWCN or WCON certification, with at least two years in wound care

• Two years experience in wound care required.
• Certified CWCN or WCON Certification required.
• Must be well motivated, organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to serve as an example to others.
• Maintains BLS.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate comprehensive wound assessments and plan of care, including goals, implementation, evaluation and outcomes.

Coordinates treatment to provide comprehensive wound assessments and plan of care including goals, implementation of treatment, evaluation and outcomes for patients throughout the organization. Provides patient, family and staff education regarding wound management, prevention of pressure ulcers, support surfaces, dressing selections and other therapies. Serves as a resource or physicians and staff.

• Graduate of an approved nursing program, BSN required
• Current licensure as a professional registered nurse in Missouri or licensure eligible required
• Two years experience in wound care required
• Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) or Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse Certification (WCON) required
• Must be well motivated, organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks
• Must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people
