Qualifications

  • Must be a Professional Registered Nurse (RN) with a current Illinois license.
  • WCC Certification and current CPR certification are required.

Description

The Westminster Place Team is looking for a Part-time Wound Care Nurse!

Some Responsibilities include:

  • Supports, interprets, and implements Presbyterian Living policies and procedures.
  • Works collaboratively with team to support Presbyterian Homes person centered care.
  • Participates in and promotes quality improvement programs and assists with implementation and monitoring of these programs.
  • Ensures adherence to all Federal, State and City regulations pertaining to Long-Term Care.
  • Assumes responsibility of a floor nurse when assigned.
  • Participates in and attends required meetings.
  • Directly responsible for the wound management program including:
  • Providing education to residents, family, and nursing staff about preventative measures or techniques to optimize wound healing.
  • Lead performance improvement projects that successfully reduce the percentage of residents who develop pressure injuries.
  • Directly responsible for wound assessment and staging, treatment, and completion of required documentation.
  • Ensure wound care plans are individualized and updated timely.
  • Participates in care plan meetings, reviews care plans for completeness and accuracy and updates accordingly.
  • Supervises and directs the CNA staff and all other nursing personnel assigned to unit.
  • Delegates treatments and other nursing activities to licensed staff working the shift.
  • Participates in direct patient care when staff is otherwise engaged, especially with response to call lights and assistance with meals.
  • Documents pertinent information on shift report and gives verbal report to oncoming supervisor.
  • Communicates changes in resident condition to DON/Supervisor in a timely fashion while taking appropriate action in urgent and emergent situations.
  • Develops a collaborative relationship with representatives from other departments to coordinate person centered care.

Education:

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Registered Nurse (RN) with current license to practice in the state of Illinois.
  • WCC Certification (Wound Care Certification) Required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
