Job summary

Northampton County is seeking an licensed practical nurse to provide direct wound care and support within a county medical facility. The role involves implementing wound prevention programs, administering medications, and documenting care in the medical record.

The LPN collaborates with physicians, RNs, and unit staff to ensure proper wound care and adherence to treatment plans, including rounds and care plan updates. Scheduling includes every other weekend, 7a-3p or 3p-11p.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Two years of clinical nursing experience in a health care facility, preferably long-term care.
Current LPN license (PA) or GPN/Graduate Practical Nurse.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Must have Certified wound care certification or equivalent upon hire.

Responsibilities

Provide wound care in collaboration with supervising practitioners.
Administer and document prescribed medications and treatments.
Conduct rounds and update medical records with care plans and nursing notes.
Coordinate with RNs, Nursing Supervisors, and physicians on patient status and treatment responses.
Supervise Certified Nurse Aides when assigned.
Maintain patient safety and respond to untoward events.
