Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare is seeking a RN Wound Care Lead for full-time daytime hours to serve as a clinical resource and supervise the wound care team. The role involves developing evidence-based protocols, educating staff, and coordinating hospital-wide wound care initiatives.

Responsibilities include patient care for evaluation and education, and leading quality improvement efforts. The Lead WCN collaborates with dietary, education, and nursing staff to ensure optimal wound and ostomy care,

Qualifications

• Minimum two years wound care experience.
• Minimum one year acute care nursing experience.
• CWOCN or CWCN certification required within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the wound care staff team on a hospital-wide basis.
• Lead development and implementation of wound/ostomy care programs and standards.
• Educate hospital staff on wound, ostomy, incontinence care and infection prevention.
• Monitor patient outcomes and compliance with protocols.
• Coordinate with clinical education and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide leadership in documentation standardization and prioritization of consults.
