Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA, seeks an experienced Lead Wound Care Nurse to direct a hospital-wide wound/ostomy program. You will supervise staff, develop evidence-based protocols, and coordinate education to reduce hospital-acquired pressure injuries.

Direct patient care for evaluation and education is included, with a focus on quality improvement and policy adherence. The role requires a BSN, 2+ years in wound care, 1+ year acute care experience, and CWOCN or CWCN certification

Qualifications

• BSN required; may need to complete degree within 2 years if not yet.
• CWOCN or CWCN certification required within 2 years of hire date.
• Minimum two years wound care experience.
• Minimum one year acute care nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages Wound Care staff and directs activities.
• Leads development and coordination of wound/ostomy program.
• Develops evidence-based protocols & standards for wound/ostomy care.
• Monitors patient outcomes and quality improvement.
• Collaborates with Clinical Education for staff education.
• Develops standardized documentation and consult prioritization.
• Provides leadership to the Wound Care Committee.
