Job summary

The Lead Wound Care Nurse provides expert clinical leadership in wound, pressure ulcer, ostomy, fistula, and incontinence management. The role includes direct patient care, supervision of wound care staff, education and development of evidence-based protocols, and coordination of hospital-wide wound care initiatives.

Responsibilities also include coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes, prevent hospital-acquired pressure injuries, and participate in quality improvement

Qualifications

• BSN required or completion within 2 years if not held at hire.
• Minimum two years of wound care experience and one year of acute care nursing.
• CWOCN or CWCN certification within 2 years.
• Current RN license and BLS certification.

• Develops and updates clinical protocols and standards.
• Monitors patient outcomes and promotes compliance.
• Provides staff education and develops care programs.
• Advises physicians and collaborates with nutrition services.
