Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital invites applications for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to support the Healogics Wound Care department. The role involves a mix of inpatient and outpatient care with schedule TBD.

The Advanced Practice Provider will collaborate with physicians and other professionals, lead education efforts for patients and families, and participate in quality improvement and research initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited school/college of nursing OR master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Acute care certification required for APRNs; inpatient experience considered in lieu of acute care certification.
• Current RN license in Illinois AND APRN license in Illinois; or PA license in Illinois; DEA license applicable after licensure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments including health histories and physical examinations in the clinical area.
• Provide direct clinical care to patients and coordinate with collaborating physicians and specialists.
• Prescribe or order medications, therapies, and diagnostic tests per privileges.
• Educate patients and families and document care & education in the medical record.
• Mentor students and participate in quality improvement and/or research within area of expertise.
• Actively participate in unit/departmental or hospital committees as appropriate.
