Job summary

Central Christian Church of Arizona is seeking an Area Worship Pastor to lead worship and build a thriving worship culture across our Mesa/Glendale campus. You will partner with the Lead Worship Pastor to guide volunteers, coordinate song selection, and ensure weekend experiences reflect our mission to help people connect with Jesus.

You will develop worship teams, prepare lyric files, manage schedules, and collaborate with ministries to deliver consistent weekend services and holiday

Responsibilities

• Lead weekend worship on Mesa/Glendale campus.

Position Title: Area Worship Pastor – Mesa/Glendale

Campus: Central Support

Reports To: Lead Worship Pastor

Status: Full Time, Exempt

Position Summary: The Area Worship Pastor plays a key role in cultivating a thriving worship culture by fostering excellence, connection, and meaningful moments with Jesus. This role provides worship support across campuses and ministries, leads worship, and offers direct guidance to worship leaders, volunteers, and musicians, primarily at the Mesa/Glendale Campus.

This position is connected to the faith and ministry of the church and moves forward the vision of Central Christian Church.

Responsibilities

• Lead worship onstage a minimum of 46 weekends a year (Holidays included)
  • Lead at Central campuses as scheduled 3-4 times a month – primarily at Mesa/Glendale
  • In addition to Sunday services, take ownership of CYA and Celebrate Recovery worship experiences
• Contribute to the planning and execution of weekend services
  • Contribute in weekend/event song selection
  • Work closely with other ministry departments to create and execute weekend and holiday
  • Assist with song arrangements
  • Contribute to songwriting for Central Music
• Lead and develop volunteers at Mesa/Glendale
  • Download and prepare weekend ProPresenter lyric files
  • Download and prepare weekend Playback arrangements
  • Recruit, develop, and schedule vocal teams
  • Assign song leads and keys
  • Prepare vocal notes for the weekend
  • Being present in the lobby as much as possible
  • Own weekend volunteer hospitality
  • Meeting regularly with volunteers
  • Assist Student Worship Pastor with CSM as needed
• Support the vision and direction of Central Christian Church and the Weekend Experience Team, and help create and carry out the vision of the Central Worship ministry under the direction of the Lead Worship Pastor
  • Participate in “all staff” events
  • Support other ministries with worship
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to work independently within scope of assignment; Manages time and prioritizes duties effectively
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and to be flexible in executing last-minute weekend changes

• Ability to sing and speak from stage is required
• Experience in a large church is preferred
