The Covenant Presbyterian Church invites applications for a Director of Music and Organist. The successful candidate will plan, administer, and supervise the church's music ministry, and serve as the primary musician for Sunday worship services.

Responsibilities include directing the adult choir and handbell choir, coordinating special services, developing the music budget, and engaging youth in programs while fostering community connections in the Augusta area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree in music preferred.
• At least three years in a leadership position of church music programs.
• Proficient in organ and conducting choral music.
• Experience with handbell choirs preferred.

Responsabilités

• Serve as primary musician for all Sunday worship services, funerals or memorial services, weddings, and special worship services.
• Provide choral and/or instrumental music for worship services, including regular and seasonal services.
• Direct and accompany the adult choir during weekly rehearsals and prepare them for offerings.
• Direct and manage handbell choir(s).
• Support children and youth music ministry offerings and recruit members.
• Develop and manage the music budget and coordinate purchases and outside musicians.
• Coordinate maintenance of the organ, carillon, pianos and handbells.
• Attend staff and Worship Ministry Team meetings and maintain the music library and licenses.
• Work with youth on Youth Sunday and develop music programs for youth.
• Coordinate substitute organists when needed and be available for other duties.
