Purpose: The Worship Leader shall be a committed Christian who helps the congregation connect, grow, serve, and go by leading and coordinating weekly worship. The role involves guiding people to become more deeply devoted followers of Jesus by encouraging deeper engagement with the core practices of connecting with God.

Hours: Full-time or part-time, according to the needs of the ministry and the candidate. Includes weekend and evening hours.

Description of Duties:

• Lead the Worship Team
  • Develop and maintain a team that performs quality music to enhance and guide congregational worship, while discipling team members in their relationship with Jesus.
  • Schedule teams for all worship services using Planning Center Online.
  • Set up and strike equipment for rehearsals and services.
  • Lead worship team rehearsals for all services.
  • Shepherd team members through devotion and prayer, or delegate this responsibility to team members.
  • Set up and/or create click tracks and multitracks for worship services, or delegate this task.
  • Maintain communication with team members about upcoming events and new music.
  • Prayerfully plan spoken transitions and leadership moments between songs.
• Identify, recruit, and mentor new worship leaders.
• Develop the gifts of team members so they can serve as worship leaders.
• Coordinate and plan worship experiences
  • Prayerfully select praise and worship songs for all contemporary services using Planning Center Online, aligning with sermon series and messages.
  • Coordinate weekly with pastors on worship elements and flow.
  • Help lead the worship design team monthly alongside the Lead Pastor.
  • Implement creative and practical elements from the worship design team.
  • Coordinate worship slides with the tech director.
• Leadership and Administration
  • Develop and oversee the budget and expenditures for worship and tech ministries.
  • Coordinate with the Tech Director to maintain and replace instruments, microphones, and other worship technology.
  • Participate in strategic planning for the expansion and growth of worship ministries to make more disciples who connect, grow, serve, and go.

If the position is full-time, additional responsibilities include:

• Staff Support
  • Support the Choral Coordinator and Tech Director.
• Contribute to the Overall Mission and Vision
  • Allocate approximately ¼ of the full-time role to serve in areas supporting the church’s mission, such as communication, social media, discipleship, and graphic design, in collaboration with the lead pastor based on gifts and church needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the lead pastor.
