Job summary

Responsibilities

• Lead worship each Sunday with authenticity and warmth, encouraging participation over performance.
• Plan and coordinate weekly music selections and direct rehearsals.
• Identify, recruit, train, and develop vocalists, musicians, and volunteers, encouraging, empowering, and praying for the team.
• Partner closely with the Senior Pastor on direction, sermon and creative planning, rebranding, and the overall vision of the church.
• Help cultivate a church culture that values and pastors young families in revitalization efforts.
• Oversee audio, video, and lighting systems and lyric presentation in Proclaim, training volunteers.
• Plan and coordinate the yearly worship ministry budget with the Senior Pastor and General Board.
• Promote and support discipleship environments, being active in Discovery Groups and church life.

Job description

Trinity Fellowship is an Evangelical Free Church (EFCA) congregation located in Friendswood, TX, an upper middle class, highly educated community on the south side of the greater Houston area. Planted in the early 1990s, the church is led by Senior Pastor John White, who came three years ago to lead the congregation through an intentional relaunch and revitalization. The church gathers at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays, followed by Discovery Groups at 11:15 a.m. The church’s worship space is currently receiving a complete renovation.

The church is seeking the right candidate to serve as their first full time Worship Director, leading the worship ministry and partnering closely with the Senior Pastor in the revitalization of the church. In coordination with the Senior Pastor, music team, and production team, this role is responsible for creating an environment of engaging worship that glorifies God and edifies attendees, while connecting with and encouraging the congregation toward spiritual maturity and active participation in the mission of reaching and equipping people to think, live, and be like Jesus. The right candidate will have a deep personal life in Christ, a genuine lifestyle of worship, and the character and capacity that align with the church’s overall mission and vision. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the congregation in worship each Sunday with authenticity and warmth, encouraging participation over performance and helping set the spiritual temperature of the room.
• Plan and coordinate weekly music selections for all congregational and seasonal worship events, and direct weekly rehearsals that prepare the team musically and spiritually.
• Identify, recruit, train, and develop vocalists, musicians, and production volunteers, encouraging, empowering, and praying for the team while providing informal pastoral care.
• Partner closely with the Senior Pastor on direction, sermon and creative planning, rebranding, and the overall vision of the church, contributing creatively across the church’s communication, including social media and graphic design where gifted.
• Help cultivate a church culture that values, supports, and pastors young families, coming alongside the Senior Pastor and the broader church in the effort to restore the demographic balance of the church.
• Oversee the church’s audio, video, and lighting systems and lyric presentation in Proclaim, training volunteers and raising the standard of production excellence.
• Plan and coordinate the yearly worship ministry budget with the Senior Pastor and General Board.
• Promote and support discipleship environments, being an active and visible presence in Discovery Groups, community groups, and the life of the church beyond Sunday mornings.

Qualifications:

• A mature, growing relationship with Jesus Christ, a regular devotional life, and a genuine personal lifestyle of worship, evidenced by character and fruit.
• Full support of the beliefs and theological convictions of Trinity Fellowship and the EFCA.
• A strong, confident lead voice with the stage presence to engage and lead a congregation.
• Proficiency on guitar (preferred) or piano, with the ability to lead a band confidently.
• A humble, highly relational team player who collaborates well and builds others up.
• Strong creative instincts across worship, service design, and church communication.
• A working knowledge of AVL systems with the ability to steward a modern production environment and equip volunteers.
• Education: No degree required.
