Job summary

Trinity Lutheran Church of Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis seeks a Worship Director to lead and grow a blended worship ministry. The role emphasizes spiritual maturity, musical leadership, and team development, working 15–20 hours weekly.

You will collaborate with the lead pastor to plan services, guide the worship team, and nurture volunteers. A strong background in church music, vocal/instrumental ability, and a faith-aligned ethos are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience leading worship in a church setting.
• Excellent skills and confidence leading and managing teams.
• Significant skill as a vocalist and instrumentalist (piano or guitar preferred).
• Broad knowledge of Christian worship music and ability to read music.

Responsibilities

• Plan worship services with the lead pastor.
• Lead the musical portion of worship services.
• Develop a process to identify and deploy new volunteers in worship ministry.
• Shepherd, train, manage, and care for volunteer worship teams.
• Develop an annual worship ministry budget and work within it.
• Inspire non-musical worship experiences for the church body.

• Attend all church staff meetings and retreats.

We're looking for a musically gifted, spiritually mature, biblically grounded Christian to lead worship and build a vibrant worship ministry at our church under the direction of our lead pastor. The ideal candidate has experience leading worship and leading worship teams. This position will work 15-20 hours per week. Trinity is a multigenerational church and is very comfortable with a blended style of contemporary and classical worship. Our worship points people to Jesus and the good news of His grace.

Responsibilities:

Work with the lead pastor to plan the worship services.

Lead the musical portion of worship services.

Develop a process to regularly identify and deploy new volunteers in the church's worship ministry.

Shepherd, train, manage, and care for the volunteer worship team(s).

Develop an annual worship ministry budget and work within it.

Look for ways to inspire non-musical worship experiences for the church body.

Assist in the church's worship tech ministry.

Attend all church staff meetings and retreats.

Requirements:

2 years' experience leading worship in a similar church setting.

Excellent skills and confidence leading and managing teams.

Significant skill as a vocalist and instrumentalist.( Preferably able to lead from piano or guitar).

Broad knowledge of Christian worship music.

Should be proficient in reading music.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Some formal training in music (and specifically church music) is preferred.
