Job summary

First Baptist Church Americus is seeking a Director/Minister of Worship to lead and shape the worship ministry of our multigenerational church in Southwest Georgia. The role focuses on relational, collaborative leadership with a blended style including choir and band elements.

The worship team rehearses and grows volunteers, while collaborating with pastors and staff. Compensation ranges from $40,000–$50,000 with health insurance, vacation, and relocation support.

• Relational, dependable, collaborative, and able to develop volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Lead congregational worship for weekly services and special events.
• Plan worship services in collaboration with the pastor and ministry staff.
• Recruit, disciple, organize, and develop musicians and worship volunteers.
• Lead rehearsals and cultivate a healthy, team-oriented worship culture.
• Help oversee worship-related technology, media, and service flow.
• Shape the long-term direction and strategy of the worship ministry.
• Use music and worship as tools for community building and outreach.
• Participate in the broader ministry and life of the church.
