Job summary

Delaware City Vineyard is seeking a Director of Worship to provide point leadership for Sunday gatherings, lead the worship team, and ensure services run with excellence, warmth, and intentionality. The role may be expanded to full-time for the right candidate.

The position focuses on worship leadership, planning, team coordination, and collaboration with the preaching and tech teams to create cohesive and meaningful Sunday experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead worship for Sunday services two times per month.
• Recruit, train, schedule, encourage, and pastor worship team members.
• Develop a healthy, unified worship culture.
• Help identify and develop emerging worship leaders and musicians.
• Provide leadership for sound, projection, livestream, and other Sunday technology needs.
• Recruit, train, and support volunteers in tech areas.
• Lead the planning and coordination of weekly Sunday gatherings.
• Work with the lead pastor to ensure services reflect the church's theology and priorities.

Director of Worship

25-30 hours/week

The Role

The Director of Worship will provide point leadership for Delaware City Vineyard's Sunday gatherings with the goal of creating environments where people can encounter Jesus, respond to the Holy Spirit, connect with one another, and take their next step in following Jesus.

This person will provide leadership for our worship team and Sunday services while helping ensure that the many pieces of our Sunday experience work together with excellence, warmth, and intentionality.

This role could be expanded to full-time for the right candidate.

Primary Responsibilities

Worship Team Leadership

• Recruit, train, schedule, encourage, and pastor worship team members.
• Develop a healthy, unified, and spiritually vibrant worship culture.
• Help identify and develop emerging worship leaders and musicians.
• Lead worship for Sunday services two times per month.
• Model a lifestyle of worship, prayer, and dependence on the Holy Spirit.

Sunday Service Planning

• Lead the planning and coordination of weekly Sunday gatherings.
• Work closely with the preaching team, worship team, tech team, and other ministry leaders to create cohesive and meaningful services.
• Work with the lead pastor to ensure that services reflect DCV's theology, values, vision, and current ministry priorities.

Sound & Tech Oversight

• Provide leadership and direction for our sound, projection, livestream, and other Sunday technology needs.
• Recruit, train, and support volunteers serving in these areas.

Additional Ministry Leadership

In addition to the areas above, this role will have opportunity to provide leadership in at least 1 of the following areas, based on the gifts and experience of the person hired:

Communications / Social Media
Hospitality team oversight
Preaching
