Westtown School seeks an experienced teacher to teach World Religions 1 and World Religions 2. This is a part-time, long-term substitute assignment starting immediately through the end of the academic year.

The successful candidate will join a team of experienced religion educators in a department that values collaboration and promotes religious literacy through a nondevotional and academic approach rooted in Quaker traditions.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required; an advanced seminary or religious studies degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of classroom teaching experience, preferably in an independent school.
• Strong character with a team-oriented spirit and ability to connect with a diverse community.
• Commitment to an inclusive school culture based on Quaker values.

Responsibilities

• Develops lessons and activities promoting problem-solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.
• Engages students with group work, project-based learning, exploration, discussion, and inquiry.
• Communicates effectively with colleagues, administrators, parents, and students.
