Job summary

Illinois State University seeks a Coordinator of World Languages Teacher Education to provide leadership for the department’s World Languages Teacher Education program. The role includes mentoring and professional development for Teacher Education majors through Student Teaching, under the Chairs and committees’ guidance.

You will coordinate with Undergraduate Studies, Undergraduate Committees, and College of Education entities to ensure program quality and alignment with policy, while

Qualifications

• MA or Ph.D. in World Languages Education or other terminal degree in related field.
• Evidence of effective teaching in a public school setting for a minimum of three years.
• Native or near-native proficiency in French, German, or Spanish.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, writing, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of educational initiatives including teacher evaluation and culturally responsive teaching.
• Ability to identify, manage, and analyze programmatic data for reporting and presentation.
• Ability to work with latitude and independence of action.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and faculty.
• Ability to implement program policies consistently and equitably.
• Ability to create informational reports about student and instructor activities.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Provide intellectual, pedagogical, and administrative leadership for the Department's World Languages Teacher Education program.
• Mentor, program, and develop Teacher Education majors through Student Teaching.
• Coordinate with Department Chair, Advisory Committee, Undergraduate Studies, and College of Education entities to align curriculum and outcomes.
