General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) seeks a Systems Engineer Sr Principal to advance operations in a classified workstation environment. You will architect, engineer, and operate a secure enclave with AD, GPOs, and MECM to ensure secure, reliable access to mission-critical systems.

The role requires a current Top Secret clearance, US citizenship, and 10+ years of related experience. Onsite in McLean, VA with DoD 8140/8570-01-M compliance; salary range $157,250–$212,750 plus total

• Review and improve system architectures; develop test plans and briefings.
• Follow engineering procedures and playbooks for the workstation enclave and security controls.
• Support ConMon validation and security assessment preparation.

As a Systems Engineer Sr Principal, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customer’s classified workstation environment. You will play a crucial role in architecting, engineering, and operating a classified secure workstation enclave, ensuring secure, reliable, and compliant access to mission-critical systems.

KEY DUTIES

• Lead and support the architecture, engineering, and O&M of the classified secure workstation enclave, includingActive DirectoryandGPOs, ensuring enclave integrity, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with the Engineering Lead, systems engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and stakeholders to design, build, configure, and sustain workstation services that meet stringent security and operational requirements.
• UtilizeActive Directory, GPOs, MECM, and core security controls (Identity & Access Management, Configuration/Change Management, Vulnerability Management) to implement and maintain secure, standardized workstation configurations.
• Review and improve system and process architectures; develop and deliver test plans, technical briefings, and product recommendations.
• Follow and update engineering procedures, artifacts, and playbooks for the workstation enclave and core security controls.
• SupportContinuous Monitoring (ConMon)validation andannual security assessmentpreparation and execution.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
• Experience: 10+ years of related experience

Technical skills

• Hands-on engineering expertise with Active Directory and GPOs for workstation environments
• Experience supporting secure workstation enclaves
• Experience supporting maintenance of System Security Plans (SSPs), Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) packages, and audit/assessment documentation
• Familiarity with DoD or Federal cybersecurity frameworks
• Preferred: Hands-on engineering expertise with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)

Role requirements

• Security clearance level: Current and active Top Secret
• Onsite - Mclean, VA
• Must be DoD 8140 / 8570.01-M compliant (e.g., Security+ or equivalent)

The likely salary range for this position is $157,250 - $212,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
