Job summary

Gravity IT Resources in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Desktop Support Technician on a 3-year contract. You'll install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair desktop hardware, software, and peripherals, supporting users across office, field, plant, and lab environments.

You will diagnose hardware, software, and user issues, provide technical guidance and training, and travel to sites within North Central, Northern, and Northeastern Indiana to ensure reliable operations.

Desktop Support Technician – 3-Year Contract

Location: Indianapolis, IN (46201 area)

Position Summary

Provides end-user technical support by installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing desktop hardware, software, and peripheral systems. This role is responsible for diagnosing hardware, software, and user issues; responding to technical inquiries; providing technical guidance and training; and implementing solutions to ensure reliable system operations.

The Desktop Support Technician will support users across office, field, plant, and lab environments, providing hands‑on assistance with PC hardware, software applications, peripherals, and related technology needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and user-related technical issues.
  • Provide technical assistance, training, and guidance to end users.
  • Respond to support requests and recommend solutions based on system knowledge and troubleshooting experience.
  • Perform hands‑on IT support, including moving and installing equipment as needed.
  • Travel to various locations throughout North Central, North, and Northeastern Indiana to provide onsite support.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Position requires work across multiple environments, including office, field, plant, and lab settings.
  • Ability to lift and transport IT equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to travel between sites using a personal vehicle.
  • Mileage reimbursement is provided for approved business travel outside the primary work location based on the standard mileage reimbursement rate.
  • Some work locations may require ASTM F2413 safety-rated boots due to site requirements.
  • No ladder climbing or machinery operation required.
  • No known hazardous work conditions identified.
Travel Requirements
  • Regular travel between assigned sites is required.
  • Candidate must be comfortable driving throughout the assigned territory, including North Central, Northern, and Northeastern Indiana.
  • Personal vehicle use is required, with eligible business mileage reimbursed.
