Job summary

Ohio Department of Behavioral Health is seeking a Workshop Program Evaluator to conduct vocational screenings, develop individualized plans, and monitor participation in the Northwest Ohio Behavioral Healthcare Work Program.

The role requires experience in counseling and human services, strong organizational and written communication skills, and the ability to support a psychosocial rehabilitation approach in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• 30 mos. exp. counseling persons who are mentally ill or developmentally disabled or other disadvantaged group of people.
• Completion of undergraduate core program in human services area (e.g., rehabilitation counseling, social work, psychology, occupational therapy) & 12 mos. exp. counseling persons who are mentally ill or developmentally disabled or other disadvantaged group of people.
• Completion of graduate core program in human services area (e.g., rehabilitation counseling, social work, psychology, occupational therapy).
• Alternative, equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

• Coordinate and monitor client participation in Northwest Ohio Behavioral Healthcare Vocational Services “Work Program.”

• Escort clients to on‑and off‑unit programs as needed.
• Serve on hospital committees and perform miscellaneous duties to support an integrated psychosocial rehabilitation approach.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This is an hourly position covered by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 10 on the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 Pay Range Schedule.

Normal working hours are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

This position is located within our Northwest Ohio Behavioral Healthcare location, located at 930 South Detroit Avenue, Toledo, OH 43614.

Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
